1 cm Taller !!??

Recently i did my height measurement.  To my surprised i'm one cm taller.  Weird and funny hahaha !!! 

Maybe i should continue and do even more exercise.  Will measure again maybe in 3 months time to check if i grow taller than now? 

Hahahaha !!!! 

Looking into Other Possibilities

I'm in opinion that my employment with Baker Hughes is coming to an end soon.

Reasons:

1. There is no more cementing contract in East Malaysia side.
2. BHI cementing has lost contracts to Hal and SLB in Malaysia.  There is not much work in this country now.  Engineers are abundance.
3. Applied to work in Iraq since May 2014 as there is rotator vacancy there.  However, since then ISIS has been active and beheaded few USA reporters and invaded oilfield in the north.  Though my location is at Basrah, which is at the South, is it still safe to work there?  Management told me to trust the company, as the company will not send its employees to places which is not safe.  As all employees know well, how much we can trust the management?  
4. At this moment, my Iraq work visa is still in the process.  Wonder how long more will I have to wait.  Malaysia management team has put forth a list of employees to be transferred out of Malaysia headcount starting September, 2014.  My name is in the list.  As I am still waiting for Iraq visa, I wonder if Malaysia management will want to pay for my salary for October or not.  
5. Malaysia cementing department is not doing well at all.  Too many headcounts with so little profit.  How?  One way is to loan engineers to other locations.  One colleague is in Myanmar now, but without any extra allowances, except for per dim, which is to cover his meals.  I got a call from my manager to ask me if I am interested to go to Philipines for 3 months, same deal, without any extra allowances.  I am thinking, if I tell him I am not interested, what would he do?  Would he give me a warning letter?  hahaha!!! 
6. Requested to join Coiled Tubing department but since I didn't agree to join them as I thought to work overseas to earn more money, it's tough now to get accepted hahaha!!! 

As of now, the future in this office is not secured.  I am hoping that we do get BSP contract soon so I don't need to look for new job or being relocated without any extra benefits.

But well, open my eyes and mind, that there are plenty of other opportunities out there.  Maybe it's time for me to pursue my dream and open one kolok mee stall and slowly expand in food business with a bro here???  and do properties as part time???  and start a drinking water supply business???  and tuition center???  

I seriously think that this is another cross-junction in life.  I should take my steps carefully.

Work as Rotator Possible ???

It's really been a while since I last updated my blog.  I just realised when I updated my other property blog.  Wow, only one article so far in 2014.  What a record.  Hahaha.

Well, lots of things have happened.  One of them is my company has lost contract with SSB.  I basically have not much work to do in Miri right now.  

Few months ago, there is cementing engineer post vacant in Basrah, Iraq.  It's a rotator job which is what I wanted for long time.  The pay is not excellent but the schedule is work 6 weeks off 3 weeks.

However, everybody knows that the situation in Iraq has turned critical now.  ISIS, America air strikes, Hazidi ppl, beheaded children, non-Muslim been tortured etc.  

For now, I guess I have to put my dream on hold again.  It's not worth to risk life to work in that part of the world.  

Well, seems like it's so difficult to have a dream come true - dream of working as rotator to have off duty times.  Or maybe instead of waiting for one, I should create the opportunity myself and make my dream come true !!!???  

Set and go !!!  Hahahaha !!! 

Been a While

It's really been a while since I last wrote here.  Many things have happened since November till date.  Worth mentioning is that finally we moved into new house Oct 2013, hope that we will not move again after this, we are really exhausted with shifting always our entire lives.  

Yesterday, 23rd Feb 2014, we joined Colour Rush, 5 km charity run organized by Children Cancer Society.  Run for good course.  My dad, brother and his 2 sons and myself joined.  I completed the 5 km in about 20 - 25 mins, a much improved timing as compared to many years ago.  Too bad that this is a charity run, they only recorded top 10 only.  I think I was in top 20 definitely in top 30.  Satisfied with my result for sure.  I guess I'm much healthier now hehehe... 

With my new Sketcher running shoe yeah !!! 

This year's target : Penang Bridge Run half marathon in November :-p
