My Miri House

After 3 months waiting, at this moment, I'm still waiting for my new house in Miri.  The legal process seems like taking forever to complete.  I called the lawyer this afternoon, now still need to wait for another couple of weeks.  D***...

However, I think I can get the permission to start my renovation before legal process is finalised, provided I can find a proper contractor with reasonable price.

Miri construction price is way more expensive than Kuching.  I asked few contractors to give me quotation, all are way much higher than my budget, the cheapest being double of my budget.  Hmmmmm... If can't find a contractor with reasonable price, I maybe settle without renovation.  Hahaha.  Perhaps will wait till I have the money only will do renovation.

House, is so important to me, and I guess nobody in the right mind would argue with me.  Of all the good things about house, is that it is a home to me, a place I belong in this big big world.  Get to stay close to the dearest and closest people to me in this world, my family.

I hope my plan to create a great home will come true very soon.

Table Tennis

Table tennis is an interesting game.  2 persons, one at each side of a special made table, hitting table tennis ball with table tennis bat, as accurately as possible to make sure the ball lands on the table.  Whoever hit a ball that doesn't touch the table, losses.

Table tennis is also called ping pong.  I guess it is because of the sound that is produced when the table tennis bat hits the ball.

I remember my first experience with ping pong was when I was 9 years old, at primary 4.  I was just been transferred to this new school, Batu 10, Kuching.  The table tennis area was only about 3 classrooms away from my classroom.  I remember I went to see others play ping pong almost every recess period.  Partly because I was new and alone as I didn't have any friends there.  Partly it was because I quite like the game as well.  To me, it was amazing how people can actually hold the small bat in the hand and hit the light small ball so accurately to and forth.  haha...

That was in year 1984.  I still remember.  I picked up table tennis after since and played quite well through the years.  Not excellent because I didn't have somebody to coach me.  I mastered it myself.  So you can imagine the flaws in my strokes.  But that really doesn't matter, as long as I enjoy the game.  I later learned from my friend, a Perak state player, and man, I did beat some really good players after that.  Years later, I beat this Perak state player too.  Hehehe.  I guess I was right all this while, that I'm really talented in sports.  Wuahahahaha.

Recently, I took my nephew to play ping pong.  When I see him trying to catch the ball, I remembered how I was back then.  Somehow the timing was always out and couldn't catch the ball properly.  It took me time, but eventually I mastered it.  Hahaha.

This table tennis club has a coach and she's quite good.  That's the good news.  I can enroll my nephew to coaching sessions, so that he can learn how to play this interesting sport properly and can enjoy the game much more than I did.

Just hope for the best.  Hahaha.

Rainy Days

Miri has been raining quite a lot since last week.  It is not unreasonable as it is still only February.  In fact, I quite like the rain at this moment for the following reasons:

  1. It is not as hot when it rains, of course.
  2. The nature is greener now.  Plants and flowers have enough water to grow stronger and healthier.
  3. Always feel nice to be around water, right?
  4. Like the sound of rain drops hitting the glass of window (of house, of office, of cars etc) and house roof
  5. Feels like it's time to recuperate.  When rain stops, we should have rested enough to face challenges again.
That's all I can think of now.  I hope things will fall into right places, at least until the end of Shell drilling project.  I'm just mentally tired of having to face all the problems that happened since the start of the second project.  I need a long break.  I need to change job.  I need to find a rotation job.  I need time for myself.  Well, it's not all bad coming back to BJ to work, at least I confirmed what I want for myself in the future.

Best of luck, Liew Khee Chong.  Hahahaha.
