This trip is interesting. Came here about 2 weeks ago. Did our job here, drilled to TD, then the casing just hang up, no success to try to go down. Pulled out of hole. Directional company did their anti-collision scan. 'Surprisingly' found out that the current wellbore was actually 'touch and go' with a nearby live well. Amazingly it just missed by small margin only. The center to center distance was 0.8 m. Hi and bye kind of distance. If it got any nearer, we might have an incident just like the Gulf of Mexico.
Interesting isn't it? Playing with disaster. By then I left this rig and already returned to KL.
Let's call that the first hole. There wasn't any other choice but set cement plug and abandoned that hole. That was when I reached home in KL at 6pm, and got a call from office to tell me I have to return to the rig at 7pm. S***... And from now on, the company's cost cutting effort has just spiral one grade downward from employee's point of view, which is to use Air Asia regardless of situation. There goes my Enrich points, bye bye KLIA, hello LCCT and will meet very frequently in the future. Already a tired mind, feeling more frustrated but well, professional mah, have to go also... afterall, more offshore days = more money = reach my short term target faster. No problem. hahaha...
As this trip was a last minute call out, the chopper in Bintulu was waiting for us. Real VIP. Took our time, didn't rush, afterall, we knew the chopper has only 2 passengers, my colleague and I. Regardless, they would wait. Hahaha, really feel like VIP = very important person. Syiok sendiri.
Another good news, the equipment was still on its way to the rig when we reached here on the rig. Hehehe, at least I have time to recover my tired body from hard work and long hours of travelling (narrow seat on air asia from LCCT to Miri, taxi from Miri to Bintulu).
When started drilling a new hole, equipment reading was different from the directional driller's scribe line, what the company man called '2 dollar science'. The egoistic DD didn't believe our reading, asked us to change tool, check again, check this and that... man, of course, chinese saying, real gold not scared of fire. No matter what tricks he did backfired or didn't bothered us. With him trusting his 2 dollar science, this new hole (call it second hole) again, didn't go anywhere it is intended to go, but direcly hitting another live well. De ja vu. What else? cement plug and abandoned again.
Funny thing is the DD even questioned the rig heading of this location. Never knew a well experience DD would question such thing. His head must have been filled with ****. haha.
Now third hole on the same conductor. Never in my life I experience this. Didn't even manage to drill the top section. Come on man, u got to be kidding me. And this time, thank God anti-collision was avoided, but the direction of the well, sigh, just didn't know what to say. Instead of going south, it went up north, and make a right turn, and try to steer it's way back to projected direction. And for the inclination, not even worth mentioning. Dogleg about 6 deg. Pengsan.
Anyway, just comfirmed with MWD that they're cleared of magnetic interference. Good luck to DD and happy drilling. And I can go sleep now. Hopefully no more issue of colliding with another well. Otherwise go back to school man :-P
